Devs, or Deus (how you pronounce depends on how far along in the series you are and how much of a douche you are IRL) is an amazing mini-series by author, screenwriter, director and more, Alex Garland. He began as an author until Hollywood completely fucked up the adaptation of his novel The Beach.

Because of that Hollywood disaster you can be grateful because that is exactly why you have 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Annihilation, and quite a few other absolutely perfect films.

DEVS is him at his peak, his stories have always carried introspective attitudes and look at what makes us human. The question DEVS ask is did we create ourselves?

Or more precisely did we create a quantum computer that created a simulation of reality so real it holds within itself infinitely more simulated realities, layers of them, and could that explain the functionality of multiple universe theory?

But MOST importantly: It's a great show, but you should read The Beach because the movie was terrible and probably the reason Leo never won an Oscar until The Revenant which I'm still not gonna watch because honestly, plotline just sounds boring to me. winter, bear, stranded, THAT'S what he gets an Oscar for... not Wolf of Wall Street... It's a scam
